Obituary for Lowell J Goubeaux

Lowell J Goubeaux, age 94, of Highland passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 72 years Leila Goubeaux; sons Guy (Mary), Duane, and Glenn (Donna) Goubeaux; grandchildren Michelle, Jaimee (David), Nathaniel (Amanda), Gabriel (Kelly), Desiree (Dave), Grayland (Sonia), and Brant, 7 ½ great grandchildren; brothers Marvin (Barbara) and Dale (Joan) Goubeaux; sisters Mary Lou (late Albert) Schulze and Carolyn (late Jim) Enneking; brother in law Marvin Hansen; sister in law Virginia Goubeaux; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Emma Goubeaux and brothers Ambrose and Cecil (Ginny) Goubeaux.
Funeral services will begin with prayers at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 2828 Highway Ave in Highland on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 9:30 am with a mass to follow at 10 am at St James Parish Church. Burial Chapel Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3-8 pm.
Lowell was a Veteran of the US Army, serving on the front lines in the 10th Mountain Division in Northern Italy during WWII. He was a member at St James Parish where he and his wife served as Eucharistic Ministers for many years. He was a carpenter in the Local 599 in Hammond for 72 years, but above all he was devoted to his wife and family.
