Robert "Bob" Hammer Jr

Robert "Bob" Louis Hammer, Jr. age 51, passed away surrounded by family in
Cleveland, Ohio from complications related to pneumonia on March 6, 2019. Devoted
husband to Michele (Roche); beloved son to Robert Senior and Darlene; adored brother
to Greg (Julie), Todd (Pamela) and Keith (Emily); cherished father to four children,
Robert III, Megan (Tyler), Jessica (Zach), and Samantha. Loved uncle by many
nephews and nieces.
Bob was raised in Dolton, Illinois where his love for hunting, fishing and the outdoors
began. Bob and his brothers were taught the importance of family, hard work and
tradition by their parents. At the age of 19 Bob met the love of his life, Michele. Their life
together was filled with over 30 years of celebrations, family vacations in Minnesota and
quality time with their children. Bob loved coaching his kids and their teammates,
inspiring each player to rise to their full potential. He approached life with resilience and
a determined spirit. Bob also enjoyed his time cooking on the grill, driving his boat and
spending time with family and friends. Many memories of spending time with Bob
include laughter, fond memories of his humor and his nicknames for loved ones.
Extremely bright, resourceful, and meticulous, Bob received a degree in electrical
engineering from Purdue University Calumet. Throughout his professional career at
Amoco/BP his diligence, dedication and amiable nature fostered his growth as an
invaluable member of the leadership team.
Bob and Michele built a home that extends beyond their immediate family. Bob's
passion for cooking, sense of humor and generosity will forever be remembered.
Visitation will take place on Friday, March 15, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Fagen-Miller Funeral
