Obituary for Kenneth Edmond Markfull, Jr.

Kenneth E. Markfull, Jr., age 64, of Dyer passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Janet Markfull; mother Joanna Markfull; sister Joni Markfull; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Sr.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Fagen-Miller Funeral Home 8580 Wicker Ave., St. John, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m.
Ken coached girl’s basketball for over 30 years including numerous players that have gone on to play and coach at the college level including three NCAA Division 1 players. His coaching includes St John the Evangelist, Hobart High School, Andrean High School (where he led them to 4 sectional and 1 regional title), and also IU Northwest. During his career he earned Post-Tribune Coach of the year, LAC/NCC Conference Coach of the year 5 times, and IBCA Coach of the year.
Memorial donations in Ken’s name to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
