Lorraine was born on September 12, 1929 to Hosie and Oveda Sneed in Royal Oak Michigan. She grew up in Harrisburg, IL and after marrying the love of her life in 1951 they moved to Northwest Indiana. They bought their home in Dyer, IN in 1957 where they lived for over 50 years and became very active in their church and community. Lorraine loved God and loved people. With an open heart and an open hand, she would serve wherever needed. Lorraine held various administrative positions throughout her life working for Beneficial Finance, Lake Central High School, Inland Steel Company, Town of Dyer, and St. Peter and Paul School. Whatever position she held, she did it as unto the Lord. Lorraine and her husband Chuck were very active in the community. Lorraine served as the Secretary to the Town Board and Planning Commission, was a founding member of the Dyer Lady Lions and a life-long member of the Dyer United Methodist Church where she served in various positions throughout the years. Faith, Family and Friends...this is how Lorraine prioritized her life. She loved her family with her whole heart! She especially loved time spent with her grandchildren! She loved traveling and enjoyed playing golf. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed!
The family is very grateful for the care provided by numerous care-givers including Barb Baert and the staff at Addison Pointe Health & Rehab Center.
