Obituary for Laurence M McGrath

Laurence “Larry” “Paw Pau” Matthew McGrath, 70 years old, of Crete, IL born into eternal life May 2, 2018, is survived by his loving wife, Shirley (Sherbondy) McGrath, sons Larry Jr and Christopher (deceased), and daughters Lisa McGrath and Laura McGrath, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Devoted son of Thomas E. McGrath and Christine D. (Tomich) McGrath (both deceased), loving brother of Thomas E. McGrath, Jr. (Sharon) Nancy McGrath, and Terrence McGrath (deceased.)
Larry, a Viet Nam Era Army Veteran, worked in the freight transportation industry for 25 years and served as a Teamsters Local 710 union steward for a number of years before his retirement. Larry also was a devout Catholic and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus in Council 3540, Lansing, IL. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great–grandfather and a diehard Chicago Cubs fan who was ecstatic to witness their capture of the World Series Championship. We miss his laughter, love and friendship.
Visitation is Monday, May 7, 2018 at St James Catholic Church, Sauk Village, IL from 10 to 11 a.m. and funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment is private.
