Anita Edith Kaiser (nee Dahlke), 94, passed away on August 26, 2023. She was born in Brunswick on September 24, 1928 to Peter and Amanda (Fetsch) Dahlke, both of whom preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, Willisford (Bill) Kaiser on February 12, 1949. They built a house in Dyer in 1957. Bill died in 2000.
Anita is survived by her loving children: Kathleen (Richard) Hansen of Dyer, Rosemary (Jeffrey) Buhse of Lowell, Victoria (Thomas) Adams of Munster, and Peter (Denice) Kaiser of Indianapolis. She had 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Lavern Bormann. Along with her husband and parents she is preceded in death by her sisters Marian Dahlke and Theresa (Donald) Konopasek; brothers in law: Alvin Bormann, Gilbert (Mary) Kaiser, Oliver (Marge) Kaiser, and Richard (Katherine) Kaiser; and sisters in law Felicity Kaiser and Anita (Lawrence) Redar.
Anita attended St. Joseph’s Church in Dyer until she entered Saint Anthony Nursing Home in Crown Point. Before retiring she worked as an accountant and a tax preparer for various accounting firms. She enjoyed reading, bowling, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was also active in the Dyer chapter of the Lady Lions. She will be remembered by family and friends by her nickname, Dolly.
Funeral services will be held directly at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Drive in Dyer, on Thursday, August 31, 2023, with visiting from 9 am until the time of mass at 10 am, followed by burial at Chapel Lawn Cemetery.
