Beverly Rae (Davison) Rucinski

Beverly Rae Rucinski (née Davison), of Schererville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026.

She is survived by her three children, Deanna Rucinski (Dave Wyrick), Gary Rucinski (Sheryl Behnke), and Daniel Rucinski (Kerry Clark); her grandchildren, Amanda Stastny, Michael Stastny, Arden Rucinski, and Decker Rucinski; her sister, Barbara Ball; and her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Ralph Rucinski, Nancy Rucinski, and Tony Rucinski.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Peter Dean Rucinski, and by her parents, Signe and Wilbur Davison.

Bev and Dean's story began when they were just fourteen years old. They attended Roosevelt High School in East Chicago together, graduating in 1955, and were married on September 9, 1961.

Bev dedicated her life to those she loved, always placing their comfort and happiness above her own. She was the heart of her family—a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother. She maintained close relationships with her children and grandchildren throughout her life, and each carries countless treasured memories of her. 

She was also a loyal and faithful friend. Bev maintained lifelong friendships with her high school girlfriends, gathering with them over the years from across the country to laugh, reminisce, and enjoy one another's company just as they had decades earlier. Through calls, letters, and visits, she nurtured those friendships throughout her life.

Summers were spent at the family's cottage on Gravel Lake in Lawton, Michigan, where Bev formed more enduring friendships. She especially enjoyed Tuesday evening campfires, gathering with friends to share stories and laughter.

A devoted daughter, Bev remained deeply connected to her parents throughout their lives. She treasured afternoons spent with her mother, Signe, enjoying lunches, shopping trips, and each other's company. When Signe was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, Bev's love and dedication never wavered. She became a source of strength and comfort not only for her mother, but also for her father and the entire family during a difficult time.

Years later, when Bev herself was diagnosed with dementia, the family she had devoted her life to surrounded her with the same love and support she had always given them. Family remained her anchor and source of strength throughout her illness. Even as the disease progressed, her warm smile would appear at the sight of familiar faces. She passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family until her final moments.

The family has chosen to honor Bev's memory privately and will not be holding a memorial service.
