Candace A. Young, beloved wife, devoted mother, and treasured friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the age of 60.
Candace was the heart of her family - a woman of grace, strength, compassion, and unwavering love. She had a beautiful way of making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. Her warmth could fill a room, her smile could ease a burden, and her love was the steady foundation of those blessed to know her.
Born on March 31, 1966, in Hammond, Indiana, Candace lived a life rooted in faith, kindness, and devotion to family. She was a loving wife and soulmate to her husband, Roger Young, sharing a marriage built on deep love, loyalty, and partnership. Together they built a life rich with memories, laughter, and enduring love.
Candace was a devoted mother to Cameron Young and Kayleigh Young Clark, who brought her endless joy. Her family was her greatest pride, and she gave of herself selflessly in every way possible.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, caring heart, resilience, and the quiet strength she showed through life’s joys and challenges. Whether through a comforting word, a warm embrace, or simple acts of kindness, Candace touched countless lives and leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Young; her children, Cameron Young and Kayleigh Clark Young; mother, Johanna Fagen and many dear friends and extended family who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by Father Daniel Fagen and Sister Sandra Fagen Lashbrook.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort knowing her love remains with us always. She leaves behind a space that can never be filled, but also memories that can never be taken away.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.”
A celebration of Candace’s life will be held in private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ella Josephine Peck a six-year little girl who faces each day with remarkable courage as she lives with cerebral palsy in Candace’s memory. Support Ella Peck | SupportNow.org
