Carl "Bud" Carney

Carl “Bud” Carney, age 74, of Cedar Lake Indiana passed away peacefully at home on April 12, 2025.  He was married for 33 years to Marian who preceded him in death. He is survived by his children: Julie (Tom) Wauchop and Brian (Jessica) Nast; grandchildren, David Markert, Dane Markert, and Bentley Wauchop; brother Bill (Vicki) Carney, nieces, and nephews; Janna Carney, Bill (Michelle) Carney, Danny (Debbie) Lipkovich, Carla (Alan) Williams, Tommy Lipkovich and Linda Carney.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Florence Carney; brother Phil Carney, sister Rebecca (Mike) White and nephew Jeff Carney.

Carl was a Hammond Police Officer for 38 years. He loved telling “stories” some true, some crazy, ALWAYS entertaining! Carl enjoyed spending time with family, watching wrestling with the grandkids, going to the casino, playing cards and reminiscing with lifelong friends. He is now reunited with the love of his life, Marian, and puppy Koda.

Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Fagen Miller Funeral Home 8580 Wicker Ave. in St. John Indiana from 5 PM until the time of honors at 7:30 PM.
