Carol Jean Hook, age 87, formerly of Highland, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026. Born in Hammond, Indiana, Carol was a beloved wife, loving mother, and devoted grandmother.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William Hook; her parents, Paul and Opal Schmitt; her sister, Sondra Kish; and her brother, Ronald Schmitt.

She was a graduate of Hammond High School in Hammond, Indiana. Carol spent her early working career at CNA in downtown Chicago. Once her children were born, Carol became a full-time homemaker and spent the years raising her children and supporting them in all their activities.
