Carolyn J. (Hinton) Huppenthal

Carolyn J. Huppenthal, 82, of LaGrange, IN died at her home on September 1, 2024.

Mrs. Huppenthal was born on January 17, 1942, in Hammond, IN to Robert L. and Eunice A. (Glascock) Hinton.

Carolyn was a homemaker, and a member of both the VFW Post 717 in St. John, IN and American Legion Post #485 Auxiliary in Schererville, IN. For the last 25 years she had wintered in Gold Canyon, AZ.

In 2014, she moved from Schererville, IN to LaGrange, to be closer to her grandchildren that she loved dearly. Carolyn loved to spoil them and especially loved to take them to pumpkin patch each year to pick out their pumpkins.

On November 29, 1969, in Dyer, IN she married George F. Huppenthal; he preceded her in death on April 5, 2013.

Surviving are two sons, Michael G. (Rachel) Huppenthal of Howe, IN, and Paul J. (Shawna) Huppenthal of Whiting, IN; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Ella, and Ethan Huppenthal of Howe, IN; and a sister, Janis Abramson of South Bend, IN.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, and two brothers, Robert and Guy Hinton.

A memorial visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 2-6 pm at Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 8580 Wicker Ave in St. John.
