Dianna Frets (Oliphant) Obituary

1935 - 2024

Our beautiful mother passed away at 89 years old from a battle with cancer.  We could have never asked for a better mother and friend.  She was there for all of us her entire life.  The most loving and wonderful mother we could have ever asked for.

Mom worked at Strack & Van Til in Highland for thirty years.  And then she became the best grandma, great grandma, and great, great, grandma.  She always had the kids and us laughing.  She was always there for all of us at a moment's notice.  All of our children loved her so very much, and enjoyed every moment they had with her.

We know with her huge heart that she would have lived until she was 100+ years old if it wasn't for this cancer that took her from us.  She had no other health issues until this.  She was always very active inside and outside of the house.  She loved to work out in the yard.  She was a neat freak; never finding a task too big to tackle.

Survivors include her children Kathy (Jay) Govert, David (Renee) Frets, Randy (Tammy) Frets, and Sandy (Tom) Benedict; grandchildren Melissa Johnson, Tony (Jessie) Govert, and Brian (Bridget) Govert; William (Amy) Frets, Lindsey (Adam) Mindel, and Lauren (Jacob) Roth; Zachary (Amanda) Benedict, Tyler Benedict, Brittany Benedict, and Megan Olsganski; great grandchildren Katie (Kevin) Lovall, Mike Johnson, and Nick Johnson; CJ Govert, Nathan Govert, and Audrey Govert; Willow and Brooks Frets; Asher Mindel, Owen, Gabriel, and Vivian Roth; Isla and Nora Benedict; and great great grandchildren Noah Govert; Cooper and Harrison Lovall.  Dianna is also survived by her sisters, Karen (Jerry) Stewart and Marlene (Jerry) Dzurovcak, and several nieces and nephews.

Dianna was preceded in death by her husband William, daughters Debra and Tracy, grandson Little Randy, and great granddaughter Sara Govert, as well as sisters Jean Edwards and Joan Crook, and brother John Rosek.

We would like to thank the amazing staff at Belvedere Senior Housing Center for the wonderful love and amazing around the clock care they gave to mom once she became sick.  We are so thankful for all of them.  Even the very special residents, and they know who they are, that prayed for her and asked about her daily.  We've all cried together many times throughout these last few months.

And we would also like to thank hospice for their loving and passionate care of her.

We now all have a beautiful guardian angel watching over us.  You will be forever loved and missed Mom!

In memory of Dianna, donations can be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
