Donald "Donny" Hough

Donald “Donny” Hough, age 65, of St. John, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Susan Hough; daughter Stephanie (Patrick) Sons and Carly (Jim) Dietz; sons Timothy (Madelyn) Hough, Donny (Sheanne) Hough, and Lucas Hough; granddaughters Sophia, Avery, Emma, Savannah, Brooklyn, Liliana, Lexie, Rylee, Paisley, and Kaylee; sisters Kathleen (late Gene) Rooney, Mary Susan (Terry) Rajczyk, Julie Hough, and Peggy Hough; brother Tommy (Lisa) Hough; in-laws Laura (Mike) Maguire, Jon (Dawn) Ruiter, Tamara (Jim) Hanenburg, and Kristin Erwin; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Margaret Hough, Lorraine Schroeder, and Robert Ruiter.

Services will be held directly at Village Church, 14849 W 93rd Ave Dyer, IN 46311, on Thursday, January 27, 2022 with visiting from 12:30 pm until the time of service at 2:30 pm. Private burial will take place at Memory Lane Cemetery in Crown Point.

Donny was a Christ follower. He loved his family and friends deeply. He loved America too. He served the church, his community and his family in every capacity he possibly could, that’s who he was. He worked for the CBOE for nearly 30 years. Followed by many years at Steel Services. He was a man of quotes and nicknames. He loved to golf, listen to live music, his Chicago sports teams, cowboy boots, driving his pick up truck, working out at the gym, being in the sun and spending time with his family. He had a great way with words and knew how to make every person he came in contact with feel loved and special. His biggest passion was loving Jesus and sharing Him with everyone he could.
