Donald H. Sayre

Donald Hylton Sayre Sr., 86, of Dyer, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones on June 7th, 2022. He was born on October 29th, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois. He married Darlene Cotter, the love of his life, in 1969. Don was predeceased by his beloved wife, Darlene, in 2007, his daughters, Marie Sayre in 1971, Cindy Williams, in 2015, and his son, Donald Hylton Sayre Jr., in 2021. Don is survived by his close loved ones, son Christopher Sayre and his wife Alla, son Philip Cotter Sayre and his wife Diane, son William Reidy Sayre, his granddaughter, Brandy Koppers, her husband, D.J., and his grandson, Shawn Williams and his wife Tabitha, and many loving great-grandchildren. Don was a kind soul, a beautiful person who spread love and joy wherever he went. Don loved sports, movies, camping, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. A special thank you to the people at Hospice of Calumet for their loving care and support during his final days. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to Hospice of Calumet or any local Humane Society. A wake will be held on Tuesday, June 14th, from 4pm-8pm, at Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 1920 Hart St., Dyer, IN. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, June 15th, 10am, at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr., Dyer, IN.
