Eileen M. Hiestand

Eileen M. Hiestand, age 88, of Dyer, IN, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023.  She is survived by her eight children: Deborah Hiestand, Beverly Hiestand, Peter Hiestand, Katrina (Darryl) Nichele, Nancy Hoff, Heidi (Chris) Locke, Timothy Hiestand, and Kenneth (Kelly) Hiestand; twelve grandchildren: William May, Jacob Locke, Justin Locke, Shelby Locke, Amelia Hiestand, Abigail Hiestand, Theodore Hoff, Spencer Hoff, Pierce Hoff, Maddie Hoff, Nelson Cadiz, and Desiree Cadiz; and her sister Mary Lou (Bert) Roe.  Eileen was preceded in death by her loving husband Raymond Hiestand; parents Francis and Amelia Kammer; brother Francis Kammer; brother Jerome Kammer; and sister Patricia Spiro.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Drive in Dyer on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 10:00 am. Burial Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.

Eileen grew up and spent her early years living in Whiting, Indiana before settling in Dyer.  She met and married her husband, Raymond, and they went on to have eight children.  Eileen was a registered nurse before her retirement, specializing in the pediatric division.  Eileen loved camping with her husband Ray.  She will be greatly missed.
