Evelyn A. (Woodward) Sartini

Evelyn A. Sartini, age 97, of Highland, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024. She is survived by her children Mary Jo (John) Roth, Frank Sartini, and Vince Sartini; grandchildren Joe (Lezlie) Roth and Jake (Kelsey) Roth; and great grandchildren Kai, Luca, and Sofia. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Sartini.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 3-8 pm with a prayer service at 6:30 pm, at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 2828 Highway Ave in Highland. Funeral services will begin with prayers on Tuesday at the funeral home at 10 am and a mass will follow at Our Lady of Grace Church at 10:30 am. Burial Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Crown Point.

Evelyn was a huge sports enthusiast … she loved her Blackhawks. She was an avid reader, devouring nearly 1 book everyday, except when taking a break to listen to some Rod Stewart CDs. Not only was she an independent and stalwart woman, she was very giving as evidenced by her volunteering at St. Margaret’s in Hammond for over 30 years, but also as a member of the Our Lady of Grace St. Vincent de Paul Society, as well as many other charitable organizations. As a devout Catholic she spent her spare time praying her rosary and watching mass on TV. However, her true love in life was her family, always in the bleachers cheering on her children and grandchildren at their many events.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Our Lady of Grace.
