Irene Gloria (Carr) Rosko

Irene Gloria (Carr) Rosko, 95, Phoenix, AZ was born December 15, 1929 in East Chicago, IN. She passed away on the 4th of March in Paso Robles, CA.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Julius; her parents, Michael and Katherine Carr; her brothers, John, Frank, George, and Tom; and her sisters, Mildred, Kay and Mary.

Irene is survived by her loving children, Kathy Rosko, Debbie (Bob) Marinconz, Julie (Chuck) Benner, Becky (Kevin) Simac, and Scot (Emily) Rosko and many nieces and nephews.  She was a devoted grandmother to Kimberly, Kyle, Nico, Megan (Garth), Courtney (Lee), Drake (Hailey), Mitchell, Steven, Julian, Rachel, Owen, Fr. Sam Rosko, Jacob (Sarah), Sara and Catie.  She was a great-grandmother to Miles and Paige.

Irene had a spunkiness about her and an ever-present, keen sense of humor.  She had the kindest heart and dedicated herself wholeheartedly to others through her work, volunteer efforts, and caretaking.  She was a strong and loving person and she passed that strength and compassion on to her family.  She loved to learn and question. She was fearless in standing up for what was right and lead by example.  She spent most of her retirement years with her husband soaking up the beauty and warmth of Arizona while spending time volunteering, traveling, hunting for treasures, golfing, praying the rosary, enjoying the symphony, going to adoration, and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a special love for her dogs and feeding the birds. Irene’s life was rich and fulfilling, her presence a treasured blessing to her family and countless friends. We were truly blessed to have been part of her life.

Visitation will be held at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 2828 Highway Ave in Highland on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 10 - 11:30 am, with a mass to follow at Our Lady of Grace Church at 12 pm. Burial St. John/St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you have a Mass offered at your local parish for Irene.
