James Joseph Connolly

James Joseph Connolly, 80, departed this life on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the Residences at Deer Creek in Schererville. Born October 10, 1940 in Chicago, he was the son of the late John Connolly and Mary Ducey Connolly.

“Jim”, as he was called, was preceded in death by his beloved wife Maryanne, sisters Helen Marie Williamson (Connolly) and Mary Elizabeth Jones (Connolly, brothers Jack, Tom, and Frank Connolly.

He is survived by his sons, James Connolly Jr. of New Orleans, LA and Kevin Connolly of Saint John, IN; grandsons Noah and Luke, granddaughter Mia; and many nieces and nephews.

A Veteran of the U.S. Army, he worked a variety of jobs within the commercial sales industry over the years. He enjoyed doting on his three grandchildren, keeping up with the news, staying busy with home improvement projects, and family gatherings.  He was a longtime member of St. Michael Parish in Schererville.

Funeral services will begin with prayers at the Fagen-Miler Funeral Home, 8580 Wicker Ave in St. John, on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 10:00 am with a funeral mass to follow at 10:30 am at St. Michael Church. Burial St. Michael Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3-7 pm.
