James Kirby Nolan

                James K Nolan, age 85, of Crete, passed away March 20, 2021 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Fran Nolan; daughters Nancy (Joseph) Colletti and Peggy (Joseph) DeLaurentis; sons James (Suzana) Nolan Jr. and Thomas (Lisa) Nolan; grandchildren Kelly, Katie, Joseph Jr, and Jillian Colletti; Bridget and Jamie DeLaurentis; James III, Sean (Mary), Thomas, and Shannon Nolan; brothers Terrence (Margaret) and Patrick (late Jacqueline) Nolan; sister Dorothy (Alex Sprovtsoff) Nolan, sister in law Charlotte Nolan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Hyland Nolan Sr.; siblings Hyland Nolan Jr., Diane (Michael) McDermott, Howard Nolan, Marcia Nolan; Dennis (Paula) Nolan; and brother in law Thomas Kelly.

                Funeral services will begin with prayers at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 8580 Wicker Ave in St. John, on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 9:15 am with a funeral mass to follow at the St. John Evangelist Day Chapel at 10 am. Burial Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday at the funeral home from 3-8 pm.

                Jim was a proud Navy Veteran. He graduated from Mount Carmel High School and received his bachelor’s degree from DePaul University. He was a former partner at Hyland A Nolan Contractors and was a longtime trustee of the Chicago Plastering Institute.
