Jeannette A. Raschke-Santay

Jeannette A. Raschke-Santay, age 93, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on October 17, 2023.  She is survived by her husband, Robert Santay; children Kathleen Raschke, Barbara (Doug) Josvai, Nancy (Hiland) Weaver, and Patricia (Robert) Schilling; stepchildren Kathy (Ray) Cloyd, Dennis (Kim) Santay, David (Maribeth) Santay, and Donald Santay, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Jeannette was preceded in death by her first husband Donald Raschke; infant daughters Karen and Mary Beth Raschke; parents Jacob and Lena Stanek; her seven brothers, Ted, Jerry, Ray, Al, Carl, Greg, and Jack; and her two sisters, Genevieve Lovrinic and Angeline Krawczyk.

After graduating from Bishop Noll High School, Jeannette went on to St. Margaret Hospital School of Nursing in 1951.  She earned a bachelor's at St. Francis College and went on to become a Registered Nurse, working for Methodist Hospital, Merrillville/Gary.  Jeannette also served at St. Mary's Church, as a lector-commentator-Eucharistic minister-cantor-co-coordinator for Eucharistic ministers.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, at St. Mary's Church 525 N. Broad St. in Griffith, at 10:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Church in Jeannette's honor.
