Jerry Peyton Obituary

Jerry Peyton, 79, was born in Harrisburg, IL on April 30, 1946, to Everett R Peyton and Virginia (Russell) Peyton. He is preceded in death by his devoted wife Martha (Marty) Augustyn Peyton.

Jerry grew up in Princeton, IN with his brothers Ronald “Ronnie” (Sharon) Peyton and his twin brother Larry (Cindy) Peyton. Jerry enlisted in the Marines and did two tours in the Vietnam War. After serving our country, Jerry moved to California and then back to Indiana where he met his wife, Marty. They raised two boys Glenn (Kim) Peyton and Jerry (Shayla) Peyton. Jerry had a love for cars. Over the years together, Jerry and Marty enjoyed camping and the various Power Wagons, race cars and a convertible that they enjoyed together. Jerry was a proud Marine and enjoyed hanging out at various VFW’s and American Legions with his many friends.

Jerry’s greatest love in life was his grandchildren, Rachel Peyton, Sabrina (Patrick) Callahan, Everett Peyton and Glenn R Peyton. Jerry would do anything for his grandkids from letting them play with his dentures, making them laugh, to driving to all different restaurants to make all of them happy. They were the true joy in his life. Jerry has one great grandchild Elliott Callahan which he got to meet before his passing.
