John William Dimer Jr.

John W. Dimer Jr., age 72, of Crown Point, went to rest peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Nina Dimer; daughter Jamie (Patrick) Hammond; grandchildren Alyssa (Joseph), Kyle (fiancé Cassidy), and Natalie; great grandchildren Carter and Grayson; mother Beverly; sister Dawn; and nieces Kelly and Kara. He was preceded in death by his father John Sr.

Memorial services will be held at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 1920 Hart St in Dyer on Sunday, January 11, 2026, with visiting from 2:00 pm until the time of Military honors at 6:00 pm.

John was a proud Veteran of the US Navy, serving as a Torpedoman Petty Officer First Class. He graduated from Fenger High School and was an Eagle Scout. He worked for Blue M Electric for nearly 20 years, before starting and running his own business, Accurate Temperature Control, for 30 years.

John had a great sense of humor and was liked by everyone. You would not be able to find anyone who would have a bad word to say about him. John was an avid model railroad enthusiast, enjoyed fishing in Florida and visiting the Jersey Shore with his wife. However, his true love in life was having a good time with his family.
