Joyce A (Mausen) Giglio

With deep love and gratitude, the family of Joyce Giglio, of Dyer, formally of South Holland and Chicago, announce her peaceful passing on Friday, 12/5/2025, at the age of 95. A devoted Catholic, cherished mother, wife, grandmother, and friend, she lived her long life with unwavering faith, kindness, and calm strength.

A woman of enduring grace, Joyce was known for her gentle spirit, her generous heart, and her steadfast devotion to her children, grandchildren and extended family. She grew up in a loving home with three sisters on the south side of Chicago. She found joy in spending time with family, celebrating many holidays together, and taking the train downtown to shop at her favorite store, Marshall Fields.  She retired from Thornridge High School, where she worked as a library assistant for several years. During her retirement, she loved to work trade shows at the McCormick Place, where her warm personality and joy were a huge hit.

Joyce is survived by her loving son Thomas (Lynne) Kirby, three grandchildren Allison (Michael) LaBay, Elle Kirby, Kori Kirby, numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family from her second marriage, who will forever hold her memory as a source of comfort and inspiration. She is preceded in death by her daughter Maureen Kirby, son Edward (Cyndi) Kirby, husband Edward Kirby, second husband Carl Giglio, and sisters Margaret, Joan and Jean.

A Mass will be held at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Church, 440 Joliet St. Dyer, IN, on Thursday, 12/11/2025, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 2755 W. 111th St, Chicago, IL. The family invites all who knew and loved her to join in prayer, remembrance, and celebration of her life with a luncheon following the burial.

May her soul, through the mercy of God, rest in eternal peace.
