Lena M. Roach

Lena M. Roach, nee Hilbert, devoted wife and mother, born and raised in Connersville, Indiana, and long-time resident of Dyer, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9th, 2024, at the age of 100.

Lena was predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years, Herbert, and oldest son David, as well as, her two brothers and five sisters and their spouses.

Lena is survived by many nieces and nephews, along with four children: son Thomas (Sheila) Roach, daughter Linda Nemeth, daughter Cheryl (Marc) VanKley, and son Robert (Laurel) Roach; five grandchildren: Deborah Nemeth, Christopher (Liz) VanKley, Daniel (Elya) VanKley, Lisa Roach, and James Roach; and five great-grandchildren: Eva, Eleanor, Esther, Bridget, and Sophia.

Aside from raising a family of five, Lena was a talented seamstress and also had a 40+ year career as a hairdresser, working into her early eighties.  Lena was a people person who made life-long, dear friends.  She will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 22, 2023, at Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 1920 Hart St. in Dyer.  Funeral services will commence the following day, Friday February 23, beginning with prayers at the funeral home at 10:30, followed by an 11:00 A.M. mass at St. Joseph Church in Dyer.  Burial at St. Joseph Church Cemetery to follow.
