Leonard Lawrence Kornacki

Leonard L. Kornacki, age 87, of Crown Point, passed away Friday, September 19, 2025. He is survived by his daughters Joyce Sawin, Jennifer (Andrew) Robertson, and Kimberly (Dean) Sjoerdsma; grandchildren Jake, Benjamin, Emily, Ryne, and Peyton; sister-in-law Bernadette Kornacki; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife Petronella “Patty Mae” and 2nd wife Joan, sister Dolores, and brothers Jerome and Dennis.

Funeral services will be held directly at St. Matthias Church, 101 W Burrell Drive in Crown Point, IN, on Friday, September 26, 2025, with visiting from 9 am until the time of mass at 11 am.

Len was a proud Veteran of the US Army. He was an accomplished Pinochle player, playing every Tuesday in a club in Crown Point. He took pride in his house, especially his meticulously manicured lawn.  He also enjoyed traveling, and racing pigeons; however, his true passion was fishing with his grandchildren. Len was a great dancer, as evidenced at every wedding by a line of women waiting to be twirled around the dance floor to the Jitterbug by the Polka King.
