Lois A. DiGiacomo (71) of Dyer, Indiana passed away on May 18, 2022 surrounded with love by her family. She was the beloved wife of Raymond A. DiGiacomo which they shared 46 years of marriage and four children together.
Lois is survived by her husband Raymond; her children Anthony (Angela) DiGiacomo, Christine (Dennis) DeBartolo, Jennifer (Gerald) Kszyminski, and Kathryn DiGiacomo; her grandchildren Gianna DiGiacomo, Giovanni DiGiacomo, Ariana DeBartolo, Briana DeBartolo and Elli Debartolo. Predeceased by her Father Gerald A. Whitted and her Mother Ida L. Whitted.
Lois received an Associates of Science in Business with Honors from Purdue University, an Associates of Science in Paralegal Studies with honors from Ashworth College and a Masters of Cosmetology from Hammond Beauty College. She was a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, as well as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary in the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Lois enjoyed the Christmas holiday the most. She was featured in newspaper articles for her extravagant Christmas display which included a miniature village with over 100 buildings. She had a passion for music and worshiped the Lord with her bible study groups. She enjoyed years of a monthly bunco club that she shared with her dearest friends. She was fun, outgoing and really knew how to throw a great party as she hosted her annual holiday parties for over 20 years. She will be remembered for her kind, caring heart and her incredibly generous and loving personality. She was a volunteer at a retirement community in Merrillville, as well as a volunteer for many organizations throughout the years. She will be dearly missed as she touched the lives of many people.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday May 25, 2022 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at Fagen-Miller Funeral Home 8580 Wicker Ave., Saint John, Indiana 46373.
