Madelyn T (Schleng) McPhail

Madelyn T. McPhail, age 72, of Dyer, passed away, Tuesday, October 14, 2025. She is survived by her son Michael (Stefanie) McPhail; grandchildren Raelynn, Nathaniel, and Gabriella; brothers and sisters Joseph (Maria) Schleng, Maria (late John) Kuhar, Helen (Robert) Wadman, and Michael Schleng; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 8580 Wicker Ave in St. John, on Monday, October 20. 2025 at 10:00 am. Burial Memory Lane Cemetery on Crown Point. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday at the funeral home from 2-6 pm.

Madelyn enjoyed stitching, crocheting, and needlepoint. She liked crime dramas like Columbo, and was an avid music fan, enjoying the likes of Kenny G, the Monkees, and the Bee Gees. However, her true love was spending time with her grandkids.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family or to the Cancer Research Institute would be appreciated.
