Mary Baranowski

Mary Baranowski, age 98, of Dyer, Indiana passed away on June 8th, 2025.  She was born in East Chicago, Indiana to the late Tillie and Peter Wapiennik on December 23, 1926.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband Leonard, son Lenny, and eight siblings.  She is survived by her daughters Linda Reese, Diane (late John) Pudlo, and daughter-in-law Karen (late Lenny) Baranowski; seven grandchildren: Eric (Jolene) Reese, Kevin (Deanna) Reese, Jennifer (Bruce) Falli, Jill (Shane) Neal, Karie (Jim) Steuer, Leslie (Jay) Kolaya, and Michael (Crystal) Baranowski; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church for many years.  Mary enjoyed playing pinochle, scrabble, and spending time with her family that she loved very much.  She was a great cook and made the best pierogi! 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 12th, 2025, directly at St. Maria Goretti Church (500 Northgate Drive in Dyer), with visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of mass at 11:00 A.M.  Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Crown Point.
