Mary Ellen (Kaftanic) Cade

Mary E. Cade (nee Kaftanic) of Hammond, Indiana, age 56, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022. She is survived by her husband of over 20 years Charles “Tom” Cade, brothers Dennis (Teresa) and Tim (Shannon) Kaftanic; sisters Donna Sako, Pam (Dennis) Phelps, and Janice (Scott) Lubbenhusen; brother in law Tim Cade; sister in law Teresa (Tim) Caskey; nieces and nephews Heather (Kevin) Cowham, Michele (Matthias) Houldieson, Amanda (Dan) Coleman, Leigha (Andrew) Barrett, Ashley Phelps, Stephen Kaftanic, Christian (YiYi) Kaftanic, Donny (Blaire) Hoover, Mackenzie Kaftanic, Auston Buchanan, Zach Hansell, Kyla Sellers, Grace Wothke, Tyler Caskey, Sam Caskey, and Austin Caskey; great nieces and nephews Reagan Cowham, Lukas and Peyton Houldieson, Evan and Caleb Barrett, Kinley, Dexter, and Blake Coleman, Israel Kaftanic, and Zevina Kaftanic. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Marilyn Kaftanic and niece Michaela Elizabeth Hoover.

A memorial service will be held DIRECTLY at the Highland 1st Church of the Nazarene, 9330 Kennedy Ave, Highland, IN 46322, on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 with visiting from 3:00 pm until the time of service at 5:00 pm.

Mary loved to read anything and everything, she loved Disney, and her heart was always and forever devoted to the Cubbies. She was kind and generous, always worried about making sure she sent a birthday gift for all the little ones in the family and loved them unconditionally. She loved Jesus and we know she was greeted by Him when she arrived in Heaven.
