Mary graduated from Hammond Tech High School. She was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady of Grace Church, participating in the Altar and Rosary Society as well as the funeral choir. She was a girl scout leader, a St. Anne's Award recipient, a CCD or faith formation teacher, a Eucharistic Minister, and even one of the first members/lay missioners of Mother Theresa's Charity in Gary. Mary was incredibly devout in her Catholic faith. She could oftentimes be found praying the rosary. During her career years, Mary worked as a home healthcare aide through St. Margaret's. She went on to become a switchboard operator for St. Margaret's before retiring at the age of 70.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Missionaries of Charity in Gary, or the Alzheimer's Association in Mary's honor would be greatly appreciated.
