Obituary
Mary Alice Grugel, age 68, of Schererville, passed away on June 16, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 41 years Ron Grugel; sons Louis (Katie) Grugel of Cedar Lake, and Daniel (Corin) Grugel of Valparaiso; her grandchildren Jacob, Camden, Archer, Hank, and Vayda; sisters Kathleen (William) Siffin of Sterling Heights, MI, Theresa (Wayne) Zarse of Goodland, IN, Lorraine (Kevin) Burkholder of Chesterton, IN, Ann Arnold of Nashville, TN, and Elizabeth (Ralf) Mueller of Berlin, Germany; sister-in-law Nancy Brewer of Griffith, IN; Aunt Alice Kelly of Tulsa, OK; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents, Marie Therese and John Geary; parents-in-law, Mary and Louis Grugel.
A Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023, from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 8580 Wicker Ave. in St. John.
Mary Alice married Ron on April 18, 1982. Mary Alice had a rewarding forty-year career in Occupational Therapy and owned a driving rehab company for fifteen years. Mary Alice was always the life of the party. She will be sorely missed by family and devoted friends, but we all know she is raising a glass with everyone that has gone before her.
