Michael D. Gifford

Michael D. Gifford, age 68, of Crete, IL passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022.  Mike was born in Harvey, IL on June 18, 1954, to Joe and Betty Gifford.  After graduating from Thornton Township High School, Mike enlisted in the U.S. Army (1973-1977), serving at the United States Pentagon in Washington D.C.  Mike is survived by his brothers, Joe (Debbie) of Valparaiso IN and Steve (Patty) of Crete, IL.  Mike is also survived by his niece, Rachel Roberts of Crete, IL and his nephews, Brian (Angie) of Valparaiso, IN, Chris (Janneal) of Highland IN, Steve Jr (Rachel) of Nitro W. Virginia, Josiah (Corinne) of Bourbonnais, IL and Ben (Jocelyn) of Chicago Heights, IL.  Mike is preceded in death his brother Timothy Gifford and by his parents, Joe, and Betty Gifford.  Mike seemed to never meet a stranger, he was an avid reader and enjoyed talking to and getting to know people.  Mike’s consistent focus in life was to share with everyone his love for Jesus Christ and to invite them to love him also. We are confident Mike is in Heaven today seeing and praising the one that he shared with others about during his life.  Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, 5:00 – 7:00pm at Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 8580 Wicker Avenue, St. John, IN.
