Norma Jean (McElhatten) Thone

                Norma Jean Thone, age 97, of Dyer, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020. She is survived by her son Daniel Thone, daughters Ruth (John) Cook and Mary (Robert) Duehlmeyer; grandchildren Eric (Calley) Thone, Travis Thone, Rebecca Thone, Adam (Anna) Cook, Stephan (fiancé Kaylee) Cook, Julia (Gary) Beresford, Lauren Cook, Elizabeth (Kevin) Pockrandt, Katherine (Tadd) Kiser, and Jonathan Duehlmeyer; great-grandchildren Gwendolyn, Gavin, Lydia, Micah, Nora, Olivia, Sophia, and Eva. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Thone, sons Mark and Edward Thone, and grandson Andrew Duehlmeyer.

          A Visitation will be held at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 8580 Wicker Ave in St John, on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 from 9:30 am – 10:30 am with burial to follow at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.

          Norma Jean Thone (nee McElhatten) was born September 21, 1922 in Logansport, Indiana. She was the youngest child of Edward Franklin and Velma Grace (nee Maus) McElhatten. She was baptized in the name of the Triune God on December 28, 1933 and was confirmed in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Calumet City, Illinois on May 2, 1948. On September 16, 1944 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Lawrence Charles Thone who preceded her in death on April 20, 1986.

Memorials may be made in Norma's honor to the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Crete, Illinois.
