Patricia Ann (Korba) Krezman

July 21, 1947 ~ December 23, 2020 (age 73)

Patricia “Pat” Krezman, beloved wife of Joel Krezman, passed away at home on December 23, 2020 in Dyer, Indiana after several years of courageously battling cancer and other health issues. Born July 21, 1947, in East Chicago, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Lillian Korba. She attended Hammond Tech High School in Hammond, Indiana. She was introduced to her future husband at Art’s Drive-In. On their first date, Joel took her bowling. On her first throw, she threw the ball backwards. Eventually, Pat became an avid bowler and she and Joel enjoyed success on the lanes. They were married on February 26, 1972 and had two children. Pat loved children and always wanted to be a Mom. She would tell you this was her only goal in life. Her son, Don, says “she was the foster mom who chose to be my only mom.” She was always there for her kids. She was a Cub Scout troop leader, a Brownie leader, a field trip chaperone, a seamstress of Halloween costumes, and a shoulder to cry on.

Pat worked for many years as an office manager in dental and optometrist offices before retiring. Her true passion was the arts. She enjoyed painting ceramics, creating puff paint t-shirts in the 80s, scrapbooking, embroidery, cross-stitch, sewing, and creating floral arrangements. Pat created all the flowers for her son’s wedding. She often sold her wares at many craft fairs in northwest Indiana. Her daughter, now a graphic designer, picked up this artistic side from her.

She loved cooking and a good glass of wine. Preferably Pinot Grigio and preferably a recent year. She spent many weekends playing bags and cards with her family. She was the unbeatable gin rummy champion in her house. Pat and her son enjoyed fishing together and she always made him laugh with her “Korba” humor. She was always supportive and even switched from a Chicago White Sox fan to a Cleveland Indians fan for the 2016 World Series to support her husband. Pat was strong-willed, full of love, and as she always said, “I come with perks.” She will be missed greatly.

Pat is survived by her husband Joel Krezman, son Don Krezman and his wife Tiara, a granddaughter Allison Caba (Krezman), daughter Joellyn Bohlen (Krezman) and son-in-law Chris Bohlen. A celebration of life will be held in July.
