Phillip William Vitullo, 60, of University Park, IL died unexpectedly of cardiac arrest at St James Hospital in Olympia fields, IL on January 27, 2022.

Phil was born on February 5, 1961, in Bellwood, IL, to Louis D. and Joan Vitullo. He was raised in Darien, IL.  He attended Northwestern Military Academy in Lake Geneva and Graduated Hinsdale South High School Class of 1979.  He found his passion at Illinois Welding school and became a proud member of the Ironworkers Union.  In 2001, he retired from Zalk Josephs in Stoughton, WI as a welder, due to deteriorating health related to juvenile diabetes. 

On September 16th, 1995, at St Jude Catholic Church in Joliet, IL, Phil married his soulmate and best friend ShoShanna Brelsford. 

Phil was a loving son, husband, brother, uncle, and great-uncle. He is remembered for his love, passion and pride of: spending time with his family and especially his nieces and nephews;  fishing on Leech Lake in Minnesota with his father and fishing buddies; attending concerts such as Rolling Stones, Steve Miller band and many more; he joined his wife as an enthusiastic Ohio Buckeye fan; traveling throughout the United States;  being a loyal patriot of United States Armed Forces; his Italian heritage; making fresh meals daily for his wife Shanna; enjoyed comedy and favorite TV shows such as Walking Dead and Navy Seals; a long time dog lover and spent his last years with his best furry friend Brutus.

Preceded in death by his father Louis D Vitullo, sister Antonietta Louise (Vitullo) Krantz, grandparents and many aunts and uncles. 

Survived by his mother Joan D Vitullo, wife ShoShanna of University Park, Sisters: Connie (late Ernest) Dupie, Vickie (Tim) Cromey, Carol (Gary) Holdcroft, and Loretta (James) Ventouris.  Nieces and Nephews: Terry Dupie, William Dupie, Robert (Mary) Dupie, Kimberly Cromey, Heather (Tim) Manthey, Aaron Cromey, Brandon Cromey, John (Michelle) Krantz, Ryan Krantz, Emmanuel Ventouris, Patty (Colin) Roof, James (Suzette) Forrest, Dierdre Valentine, David (Mandy) Brelsford, Shane Dawson, Brittany K Dawson, Stephanie (Caleb) Fager, Lindsey (Michael) Ridley, Zachary Dawson, Kelsey Brelsford, and Kinsey Brelsford-Hessian.  Great-Nieces and Nephews:   Mikayla Dupie, Gracie Dupie, Jane Dupie, Jonathon Dupie, Tristin Dupie, Ethan Cromey, Logan Manthey, Elizabeth Manthey, Nadia Cromey, Braxton Cromey, Jacob Cromey, Hope Krantz,  John J. Krantz Jr., Anna Krantz, Jack Jr Forrest, Peyton Forrest, Alyssa Hatch, Taryn Hatch, Riley Brelsford, Derek Brelsford, Olivia Dawson, Carmen Webb, Caius Dawson, Quinn Dawson, Amelia Dawson, Landen Dawson, Nikita Ridley, Raiden Ridley, Amos Ridley, Kendall Brelsford, and many cousins, In-Laws and friends that loved him dearly.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 11, 2022, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Fagen Miller Funeral Home 1920 Hart St., Dyer, There will also be visiting on Saturday, February 12, 2022 DIRECTLY at St. Maria Goretti Church 500 Northgate Drive, Dyer, from 9:30 am until the time of mass at 10:00 a.m.
