Raymond Mayborne, Jr. Obituary

Raymond Mayborne Jr., 60, of Schererville, Indiana passed away on July 24, 2021. Born in Beloit, Wisconsin, Ray was born to the late Raymond and Virla Mayborne. After his parents divorced, Ray’s father remarried to the late Lillie Thomas. Lillie saw (Little) Ray as her own and raised him alongside her 4 children from a previous marriage. Calvin (Sherie) Thomas, Ben (Norden Gilbert) Thomas, TiJuania (Mark) Eberle; and the late Wayne (Tina) Thomas. Survivors also include his wife Denise (Dynek) Mayborne and their daughter Emily Mayborne, Dakota Dynek (Stepson), and Michael (Patricia) Mayborne and Nicholas Mayborne. In-Laws include, John, Nicole and Joseph Kawalski and Glenn, Kim, Rachel and Sabrina Peyton; who have been very supportive for the last year. Ray will also be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Some of Ray’s joyful moments included playing video games with his sons, model airplanes and cars, collecting various random unique toys and talking about History. He was very proud of his daughter who is in the National Guard. In his younger years, Ray was part of the Drum and Bugle Corp in Illinois. Recently; Ben, his brother, sent him an old book with a note in it reminiscing about the time when he and Ray were pulled over by law enforcement because they were slapping each other in the face. Ray laughed so hard at that memory he almost fell of the chair!

Ray never liked being the center of attention, per his wishes there will not be a service and will be a donor for the Gift of Hope. His family thanks everyone for the well wishes and support in their time of sorrow.
