Robert G. Hames

Robert G. Hames, age 88, of Chicago Heights, Illinois, passed away on June 3, 2024.  He is survived by his children William T. (Lynn) Hames, Susan (late Patrick Sr.) Crose, and Steven Hames; grandchildren Patrick Jr. (Bridget) Crose, Tabitha Crose, Kevin (Bethany) Crose, Amanda (Timothy) Collins, and Katelyn (Brad) Crose-Duran; great grandchildren Bailey Crose, Brieanna Crose, Jared Crose, Bentley Collins, Landen Collins, and Harper Collins.  Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Margene (nee Crain); parents Eugene and Evelyn Hames; daughter Sharon (surviving Steve) Hernandez; and sister Joan Hames.

Robert's services will be family-centered and private.

Before retirement, Bob worked as a foreman for Interlake Acme Steel. Bob was also a soldier, baseball player, dog lover, stamp collector, golfer, and fisher.  His favorite team to cheer on was the Chicago White Sox, and he had quite the green thumb when it came to his rose bushes.  Bob was a beloved father, grandpa, and great Papa, who will be greatly missed.
