Robert Keith Lauermann

Robert Keith Lauermann, age 79, of Schererville, IN, formerly of Sauk Village, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 22, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Linda Lauermann; children Todd (Brenda) Lauermann and Kirk (Sylvia) Lauermann; grandchildren Alexis, Madeline, and Izabella; great grandchild Lydia; sister Jeannie Lauerman; and nieces Chrissy, Beth, Susan, and Jennifer Dinnerville and Holly (Steve) Holleran. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Helen (nee Streich) Lauermann, sisters Joyce Holleran and Jan Dinnerville.

Robert was born on May 18, 1946, to Harvey and Helen in Chicago, IL and graduated from Bogan High School in 1965. After High School he proudly served in the U.S. AirForce during the Vietnam War. Robert then went on to be employed by the Indiana Harbor Belt Railway.

He was the past treasurer of “The Locomotive Engineers” in Chicago, IL. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, scuba/snorkeling, gardening, fishing, animals (his pets), and tinkering on many projects around his home as well as just spending time with his family. Robert was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Munster, IN.
