Roy L. Collins

Roy L. Collins, age 64, of Hammond, (formerly of West Plains, Mo.) passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on June 14, 2023.  He is survived by his loving daughters Victoria (late Ralph) Nikischer, Jaclyn (Tony Gaskey) Collins, and Amanda Collins; loving sons Ronald Troupe Jr. and John Nieto; siblings Jeffrey (Kathy) Roy and Angela (John) Mason; mother Hazel Harshman; grandchildren Vanessa, Jamie, Robert, Gwyneth, Ava, Dylan, and London; great grandchildren Eva and Evelyn; uncles Charles, Gaylen, Kirk, and Danny; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members.  Roy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Vye Collins; grandson Brian Moore; and brother Jerry Roy.

A funeral service will be held at Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 2828 Highway Ave in Highland on Monday, June 19, at 2:00 P.M.  Visitation will begin after the service, and continue until 6:00 P.M.

Roy was passionate about his career as a truck driver and loved spending time out on the open road.  He loved his horses, and his coffee (extra cream, extra sugar).  He was known for his hilarious sense of humor, which stayed with him until his final days.  Roy cherished time spent with his family and friends.  He courageously fought up until his last breath.
