Sandra Marie (Kurzawinski) Santay

Sandra Santay, of Schererville, IN, passed away on December 9, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 7, 1947, in Gary, IN, to the late Frank and Marie (nee Ceotto) Kurzawinski.

Sandra was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Richard Santay. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

She leaves behind a legacy that will never be forgotten. Sandra was a remarkable daughter, wife, mother, and friend. She was a devoted mother to her children Desa (nee Santay) Propadalo and her husband, John Propadalo, along with Richard M. Santay. She adored and loved her grandchildren, Zander and Vaughn Propadalo of Illinois, and Violet Santay of Indiana, who brought her endless joy.

Sandra is also survived by her cousin, Cheryl Bryon of Florida, who was more like a sister, as well as many dear friends she considered family.

She was preceded in death by her in-laws, Michael and Mary Santay, and her brother-in-law, Sheldon Santay.

Visitation will be private. Burial will take place at St. John St. Joseph Cemetery.
