Sava (Graovac) Kalanj

Sava Kalanj, 83 of Saint John passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025.  Born March 12,1942 in Benkovac, Croatia.   Survived by daughters Borka Kalanj & Tanja Kalanj-Ramon, granddaughters Ariana (Jacob) Schreiber & Hannah (Clay Hardman) Ramon, many nieces, nephews and friends.  Preceded in death by parents Milos & Milica Graovac and 6 brothers & sisters.

Services will be held at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 8580 Wicker Ave in St. John, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 with visiting from 5 pm until the time of service at 7 pm.

Working until the age of 81, she was a dedicated employee of Strack & VanTil/Ultra Foods for 31 years & prior to that 13 years with Kentucky Fried Chicken.  

Her family was her life.  Her granddaughters were her joy.  Her nature was quiet, honest, humble and full of integrity.  She was hardworking and determined.  She possessed a tender heart and a gentle soul.  She will be forever in our hearts.
