Tyler James Anton, 34, of Dyer, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on July 19, 2026.
Tyler was born on October 16, 1991, and graduated from Lake Central High School. He worked as a union carpenter with Local 1484 and was also a member of Teamsters Local 705.
Tyler loved music, fishing, and football—especially his Chicago Bears. He had the kind of smile that always seemed to promise a little bit of trouble. He was sarcastic, funny, stubborn, and had a heart bigger than he would ever admit.
He is survived by his mother, Sherry Anton [Glenn Swanson]; his father, James Alan Anton [Marie Collette-Anton]; his sister, Tiffany Anton [Larry Mann]; his brother, Alexander Anton [Amanda Anton]; his niece and nephew, Dani Anton and Brody Anton-Mann; his grandmother, Betty O’Rourke; his best friend, Mick Macak; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank “Sonny” O’Rourke, James and Wilma McAlister, Al Anton, and Joyce Myland, and by his childhood best friend, Adam Pufahl.
Tyler will be remembered for his unforgettable smile, his sense of humor, his loyalty, and the way he was always there for the people he loved. Life will not be the same without him.
A Celebration of Tyler’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026. Please contact the funeral home for additional information.
