Wally Richardson, age 84, formerly of Highland, passed away Friday, January 30, 2026.
He is survived by his wife, Sheree Richardson. Children: Deborah (late James) Connor, Kevin Richardson and Bryon (Jacqi) Richardson. Grandchildren: Taylor and Colin Chenoweth, Jamie Richardson, Eric (Hannah) Richardson, Emmy and Lily Richardson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Richardson and his parents, Harold and Lillian Richardson.
Memorial services will be held directly at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 8955 Columbia Avenue, Munster, IN on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Visitation at 10:00 am, service at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in the church’s columbarium.
Wally was a loving and generous husband, father and grandfather. His persona was larger than life and he will forever be remembered for his never-ending stories and grand sense of humor. Born in Hammond, IN, Wally attended Hammond High School and enlisted in the United States Army in 1958. He served in the Signal Corp until 1962. Upon his return from the army, he graduated from Valparaiso Technical Institute and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University Northwest in 1992. He volunteered with the Highland Fire Department from 1972 to1987. Wally retired as project manager at Inland Steel after 28 years. During his retirement, he took up woodworking and volunteered his time to Westminster Presbyterian Church as a deacon and elder. Until his passing, he enjoyed maintaining the church’s membership directory. Wally deeply cared for his family, cherished friends and his church.
