William Edward Carlson

William E. Carlson, age 86, of Munster, IN, passed away on July 2, 2025.  He was married to Janet Carlson who preceded him in death on June 25, 2019 after 57 years of marriage. He was preceded in death by parents Ed and Grace Carlson; in-laws Pete and Peg Stabler; grandchildren Justin and Olivia Carlson; and siblings Betty Kresach, Shirley (William) Zick, Virginia (Stanley) Richardson, Robert (Donna) Carlson, and Richard Carlson.  He is survived by his children William (Stacey) Carlson Jr., Mary Jo (David) Pape, and Timothy (Brooke) Carlson; grandchildren Allyce, Kristina, Bobby, Jake, Claire, Will, Cameryn, and Will; four great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Lois (late John) Stabler and Carol (late Richard) Carlson; brother-in-law John (late Betty) Kresach; many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members; and his beloved dog, Hazel, who has been adopted by his grandson Jake.  

The family of William would like to extend a special thank you to his amazing long-term friend and caregiver, Loveness.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 2828 Highway Ave., Highland, IN.  Funeral mass will take place at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 10, directly at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 8501 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN. Burial to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.

Bill was the happiest when in the company of his family and friends. His favorite pastimes included sitting around a campfire on one of their countless camping trips, sitting on the porch enjoying a glass of wine while watching a Cubs game, Blackhawks game, or Nascar Race, or cheering on his grandchildren on the sidelines of their sporting events.

Bill's greatest joy was being married to his beloved wife, Janet. 

Bill's love of dancing and singing will live on in everyone's memories forever.
