William Leslie Stone, Jr – 90 of Highland, Indiana – passed away November 30, 2025. Preceeded in death by his beloved wife Judith. He is survived by his son, William Leslie Stone, III (Peg), his daughter Jodie Stone, Grandchildren Joshua Stone (Kristin), Jessica Tomich (Ryan) and Great Grandchildren, Brendan, Kayla and Benjamin--and his beloved black Labrador Retriever, Packer. (Packer has a new forever home, (Liz) in Grand Haven Michigan).
He graduated from Hammond Tech (Go Tigers!) He was in the Army as a tank Sergeant in Germany and employed and retired from Keyes Fibre in Hammond. He was a life-long Green Bay Packers fan (Go! Pack! Go!) And became a Purdue Boilermaker fan, when his daughter and grandson attended and graduated from Purdue. (Boiler Up!) He was most proud and most known as the Santa Claus for the Town of Highland for over 20 years – Santa telephone calls with wife Judi, as the North Pole Operator – and personal appearances – his voice was clearly “All Santa, All The Time”, he was an avid hunter, cook, carpenter and handyman for all that needed advice or a helping hand. He attended Our Lady of Grace church. No mass – memorial service at a later date. Interment will be at Saint John/Saint Joseph Cemetery in Hammond, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers – please send donations to the Munster Humane Society. We also want to thank Emmanuel, dad’s caretaker, and our aunt Pam and Uncle Jim for helping us navigate dad’s care.
“Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let your perpetual light shine upon him, may his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen.”
